They were taken at 1/1600.  I use autofocus because they are moving so fast.  This is one place where a better lens and camera with faster autofocus helps a lot.  Also, some cameras have a servo focus mode that will continuously focus on a moving object.  That can help, too.

Other than than, take lots of shots and pick the best one!</description>
